This week, Frank's parents and sister's family are visiting from Utah. We usually get together every summer, and all stay together at the same place. Since the three Gray boys all live relatively close, however, this year we did things a little differently. Every day we did a different activity, but at the end of the day we got to come home and sleep in our own beds!
Tuesday we all went to Knott's Berry Farm. I was expecting it to be insanely crowded, but it actually wasn't that bad. It was definitely a little toasty outside, but not unbearable. The kids had a blast, and there are some pretty good "big kid" rides as well. It was fun to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Gray and all the cousins (there are 13 grandkids now with one more on the way!). We ended up being at the park for more than 10 hours, and while there were a few meltdowns at the end the kids did pretty good.
Wednesday we went to the beach. It was pretty cool and windy, but the kids still had a blast!
Last night Wyatt spent the night at his uncle Richard's house, and his cousin Brendan absolutely adores him. Every time he left the room, Brendan would look around and say "Where Wyatt? Where Wyatt?" Rich buried both of them in the sand.
Thursday we went to Rich's brother Charlie's place, and spent the day by the pool. It was nice to relax a bit!
On the fourth of July, everyone went to Richard's house in the afternoon. It was SCORCHING outside (the thermometer read 108), so most people either went to the pool or stayed inside with the A/C!!!! My mother-in-law made these cute little capes for the grandsons. They are Batman capes on one side, and Superman on the other.
We went to the Lake Elsinore Storm game after dinner. It was a really nice stadium! A lot less crowded than the big ballparks, but still good quality baseball. What is more American than baseball on the fourth of July? There was a great fireworks show afterwards as well.
On Saturday, Eliza was baptized. She looked so beautiful! Everyone came to our house for lunch beforehand, and we had a great time.
After the baptism, Wyatt had an All-Star baseball games. It was fun to watch him and his friends play, and they did really well! He had never hit a home run before, but he somehow turned into a power slugger this week and hit two (one in each game). Go Wyatt!
Sunday we just spent time with the family before Frank's sister and parents drove back to Utah. It was a busy week, but we had a great time!
